Pawan Agarwal is the Deputy Managing Director of the Dainik Bhaskar Group.

Mr. Pawan Agarwal is the Deputy Managing Director, DB Corp Ltd., spearheading Production, Human Resource and Information and Technology at Dainik Bhaskar. In addition, he drives the strategic direction of the group’s Radio division (MY FM) and DB Digital. His contributions to Indian language journalism have been recognized at the national level; he has been honored by the Prime Minister of India and was named one of the Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Asia-Pacific by Enterprise Asia in 2010.

He began his professional journey with the group in 1996, leading the launch of Dainik Bhaskar in Jaipur.

Through his sharp strategic vision and execution excellence, the newspaper achieved a historic milestone by securing the No.1 position in the city from its very first day of publication, displacing a 40- year-old established competitor.

Under his leadership, MY FM, the radio channel of the group grew from a single station to a 30 station strong non-metro network in record time and achieved break-even in less than 3 years and posted a profit after tax (PAT) in 4 years, the shortest in the history of the Indian radio industry.

His deep understanding of consumer behavior and sharp operational insight were instrumental in the successful launches of Divya Bhaskar in Ahmedabad (2003) and Divya Marathi in Maharashtra (2011).

Notably, Divya Bhaskar’s launch was studied as a case at IIM Ahmedabad, while the Divya Marathi launch was later adopted as a case study at IIM Bangalore.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, USA. He has

further enhanced his expertise by completing executive programs in leadership and strategy at Harvard University.

He was also the Founder Chairman of the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA), which represents the digital platforms of India’s leading print and television media organizations. In addition, he was the past President of South Asia Board of the International News Media Association (INMA) and actively engages with global leadership networks as a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO).
