With 30 years of journalism experience, Shuruq As’ad is a pioneering journalist and media trainer based between Jerusalem and Ramallah.She made history as one of the first female journalists and TV anchors on Palestine TV (PBC) after its establishment in 1994 following the Oslo Accords. Shuruq has worked as a Correspondent for several Arab TV News Channels such as Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya, Nile News, and is currently the correspondent for Dubai and MCD Radio montecarlo addoualiya ,covering a wide range of hard news stories and features from Palestine and Israel. Her work has covered hard news including demonstrations, intifada updates, Israeli invasions, elections, Palestinian prisoners stories and swaps Israeli war on Lebanon in 2006, more than five Israeli wars on Gaza, Palestinian – Israeli negotiations, , and interviews with political, social and cultural figures.
Currently, Shuruq is a Media Trainer and Coach with WAN-IFRA, CFI and other. She is also the Country Coordinator in Palestine for WAN-IFRA’s  Women in News” program, through which she works with many partners from the Palestinian media organisations, and with a pool of young Palestinian journalists to meet their skills and content development needs.  Shuruq is also the founder of General director of ” Palestine journalism Hub” that was recently established. She is dedicated to empowering Palestinian journalists and students through training and networking opportunities. She is also a Media and PR consultant for local Non-Governmental Organisations and a member of the general secretariat for the Palestinian Journalist Syndicate (PJS) and its spokesperson.
Shuruq’s exceptional contributions to journalism have earned her accolades, including the Arab Journalism Prize in Dubai (2000) for her coverage of the second Palestinian Intifada and the Golden Prize at the Cairo International Festival for TV and Radio (2002) for her documentary, “Journalists Covering the Conflict.”
Shuruq has received her Masters degree in Journalism and Communication from the Superior School of Journalism of Paris – SSJC- France in 2022, and has obtained her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and political science from Birzeit University in 1998.
