Vidya is the head of Breaking News, Financial Industry and Financial Markets, at Reuters. She leads the coverage of spot news on financial markets as part of the Reuters wire service, working with market reporters around the world to deliver updates and insights on markets for the wire and a broader professional audience. She is based in Singapore and works with teams in China, New York, London and all other markets.

She joined Reuters in 1998, prior to which she worked in the dealing room of Societe Generale in Mumbai for 3 years, selling treasury products to customers. She holds a Masters degree in Physics and a Masters in Management. Married, with two kids, she has made Singapore her home for the past 21 years.
