PLX AI / Thomson Reuters – Copenhagen, Denmark
PLX AI, Europe’s fastest financial news feed, was acquired by New York based Thomas Reuters, the world’s leading source of news and information for professional markets. It is a real-time financial news service powered by artificial intelligence. The service delivers breaking financial news and insights that moves stock prices from 1,500 companies across the U.S. and Europe, using natural language processing engines.  We will meet with Gelu Sulugiuc, Founder of PLX AI and Director at
Thomson Reuters who will share with us their current work on autogeneration of financial news.

Jysk-Fynske Medier (JFM) – Odense, Denmark
JFM is Denmark’s second largest private media group and cover the entire country.
They publish a total of 15 daily newspapers with over 550,000 readers each week and 43 weekly newspapers with almost 1 million readers. Avisen Danmark is one of the country’s most read daily newspapers with 400,000 readers each week. In addition, regional and local news sites with approx. 1.5 million weekly users. The national Radio4 – with JFM as main owner – reaches 224,000 weekly listeners. They reach 2.7 million contacts every week. Jørn Broch, News Director at Jysk-Fynske Medier working on digital transformation of media, and in charge of an ambition of AI-enhancing their 400+ reporters on a number of local/regional papers all over Denmark, will share with us their current work with generative AI at JFM.

STEP (Jysk-Fynske Medier)- Odense, Denmark
STEP is a digital agency owned by Jysk-Fynske Medier. Dennis Vesti Brorson, Data & Intelligence Director at STEP will share with the group the approach taken at Jysk-Fynske Medier to become an AI ready news organization, and learn about their recommender systems for news and AI for advertising. We will hear how they substantially increased newsletter subscriptions and gain new customers, while reducing costs for Jysk Fynske Medier. We will also learn about their news recommender project NEWCAST and their journalist AI assistant project JOURBUDDY.

Friday, 31 May 2024 – Copenhagen, Denmark

JP/Politiken Hus – Copenhagen
JP/Politikens Hus is one of Denmark’s leading media companies, publishing several news media. Their activities include publishing houses, weekly newspapers, and niche media. JP/Politikens Hus three of Denmark’s leading national news brands: Ekstra Bladet, Jyllands-Posten and Politiken. Each month JP/Politikens Hus is in contact with more than 3 million Danes through their digital and printed media. In our visit we will meet with Kasper Lindskow, Head of AI, JP/Politikens Media Group, and colleagues to hear about their Generative AI approach in the newsroom.  We will learn about the AI based tools  they have built in GenAI, as well as the recommenders systems and NLP.

Zetland – Copenhagen
Zetland is a Danish media company founded in 2012 with headquarters in Copenhagen. It  publishes three to four news articles daily, focusing on long-form stories and in-depth articles. Zetland is a digital publisher dedicated to journalism as a force for good. Guided by their members, they fight for a public conversation motivated by insight and curiosity. Zetland has received international acclaim for its audio journalism, user experience, live journalism, and groundbreaking work on establishing a business model for journalism that is funded, supported and driven forward by its members. Zetland is ad-free and fully transparent. In our visit, we will meet Tav Klitgaard, Director at Zetland, who will present on their unique approach to innovation in AI in their newsroom, as well as share on their work at their AI tool lab, as well as their own AI-powered transcription service they have built, Good Tape, which was released as a free tool for anyone to use.

TV2 Copenhagen
TV 2 (TV to) is a Danish broadcast and subscription television station. It was founded in 1986 and since then makes daily broadcasts of regional and national news. We will meet with Casper Thomsen, Director, Content Technology, Data Foundation & Enterprise Architecture at TV 2 Technology, and colleagues and learn from their AI recommender systems for streaming content, and more.

The Study Tour will end at 17:00 CET.
