This workshop aligns with the objectives of International Color Quality Club (ICQC), the biennial quality contest organized by World Printers Forum (WPF) for newspapers/magazines with an objective to improve print quality as per the international ISO standards.
This training also helps to set up a typical approach to quality control mechanism in a newspaper production environment.

- Standards and requirements: Introduction to ISO 12647-3 and ISO 2846-2 that aligns with Color Quality Contest 2024-2026 (CQC)
- 10 steps to implement ISO 12647-3
- CTP RIP calibration and setting to achieve 26% dot gain in press
- How to measure and analyse dot gain
- How to study the color gamut of a press – 2D analysis
- How to determine the right Solid Ink Density for your paper and ink combo
- Using Spectro-densitometer and right settings for density and colors.
- Right color settings and ICC profile handling
- Introduction to WAN-IFRA Newspaper V5.icc profiles for newspaper
Preparing for International Color Quality Contest (ICQC 2024-2026)
- Objective of the competition
- Overview of timeframe and deadlines
- File handling of the test element “IFRA Cuboid”
- Discussion of the generated reports
- Understanding and benchmarking your report with peers
- Explanation of the General Print Quality (GPQ) parameters and evaluation procedures
