The awards recognize news publishers who have adopted digital media and mobile strategies as part of their total product offering to meet the major challenges in how people consume news and information today.
The winners of the inaugural edition of South Asian Digital Media Awards were announced and the winners were presented with trophies at the glittering awards ceremony today, as part of the first day of the WAN-IFRA India 2016 Conference. Nearly 400 delegates from more than 20 countries are attending the conference, which is taking place in Kolkata, India, on 21-22 September.
Manoramaonline.com, The Quint and NDTV Convergence were among the winners of the awards, jointly presented by WAN-IFRA and Google.
WAN-IFRA’s Digital Media Awards are the most prestigious recognition of best practice innovation in digital publishing worldwide. The awards are presented in every region – South Asia, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Latin America. The winners from each region subsequently compete for the World Digital Media Awards.
