Heading to Taipei, Taiwan
We are delighted to be heading east for the 2023 Congress, to the vibrant city of Taipei, capital of Taiwan. Taiwan is one of the world’s most digitally wired nations. In Freedom House’s assessment of free and independent media in 2019, Taiwan scored full marks. The proximity to China means many of the media houses have significant business interests in China or rely on advertising by Chinese companies.
Our local partner for the event is United Daily News, Taiwan’s largest privately-operated Chinese-language media group. It publishes the United Daily News, the Economic Daily News, and the World Journal, with editions published in North America and Southeast Asia. The World News Media Congress is often one of the most beneficial conferences for me to attend. From the high calibre of speakers, to the timely and highly focused subjects covered; I am confident of always walking away with new knowledge and connections. The networking opportunities for media executives and editorial leaders are excellent and are always hosted in an environment that is conducive to learning, being inspired, making long-term connections and getting business done.
